Custom business configurations are the successor to Table Maintenance Dialogs in S/4HANA systems. Database tables are being published via a Business Configuration Maintenance Object, which links to a manually created or automatically generated odata service.
Business Configuration Maintenance Objects can be maintained in the standard app Custom Business Configurations (F4579).

About the app
Per default the app lists all Business Configuration Maintenance Objects that have been created.
Via the settings icon in the top right it is possible to group the Business Configuration Maintenance Objects (only with one hierarchy level). If no configuration group is assigned, it will be displayed in the group header “Not Assigned”.
When opening one of the Custom Business Configurations, the content is displayed and it is possible to either edit the content or press “Display Change Logs”, which will navigate to a standard app that allows to see which field got changed when and by whom.
In the edit view Custom Business Configuration, one or more new rows can be added. Value Helps allow to select pre-defined values.
If a Custom Business Configuration is currently locked by another user, this is being visualized in the top right corner by an icon.
When pressing on it, you receive detailed information.
It is still possible to overwrite the other persons draft and start editing the Custom Business Configuration by yourself.
Sneak peak into the standard app Business Configuration Change Logs (F4327), that can be opened by pressing “Display Change Logs”.
This app can show the change log not only for tables published as Business Configurations, but all tables with enabled table logging.
